The Reading Research Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping others understand how the human brain works when we read. Reading is a brain-based activity. Our thoughts and our understanding about language influence our reading ability and our feelings about reading. The purpose of this website is to provide practical guidance to all who teach others how to read and to provide engaging, relevant practice for beginning, struggling, and advanced readers so they can more efficiently and effectively read with understanding and write with clarity.
